Tsingyan Electronics Launches D33 Dry-Process Supercapacitor for AIDC and AI Data Center Power Applications

    August 2026 | Tsingyan Electronics

As artificial intelligence (AI) continues to drive rapid growth in computing infrastructure, AI data centers (AIDC) are facing increasingly demanding requirements for power density, transient response, reliability, and operational efficiency.

Modern GPUs can experience rapid and significant power fluctuations, with load changes occurring within milliseconds. These dynamic power profiles place higher demands on data center power systems, particularly in applications involving short-duration power support, voltage fluctuation mitigation, and transient power compensation.

To address these challenges, Tsingyan Electronics has launched its new D33 series dry-process supercapacitor, a low-ESR supercapacitor product line developed for AIDC, UPS, power quality management, and other high-power applications.

Built on Tsingyan Electronics' proprietary Powder-into-Film (PIF) dry electrode technology, the D33 series is designed to deliver high power density, ultra-fast response, long cycle life, and enhanced reliability for demanding power applications.

Designed for High-Dynamic AI Data Center Loads

The rapid expansion of AI computing is driving higher power requirements and greater load variability in data centers. Unlike conventional computing workloads, AI servers and GPUs can generate substantial short-duration power transients.

Supercapacitors are well suited to these conditions because they can respond extremely quickly and deliver high power over short periods.

The D33 series is designed to provide rapid power compensation during transient events, helping reduce the impact of sudden load changes and supporting stable DC bus voltage and power delivery.

In AIDC power systems, the D33 can be considered for applications including:

    • UPS short-duration power support

    • GPU and AI server load transient compensation

    • Voltage sag and power quality mitigation

    • Diesel generator transient power assistance

    • Hybrid battery-supercapacitor energy storage systems

    • High-power-density data center infrastructure

    Ultra-Low ESR for High-Power Operation

One of the key performance characteristics of the D33 series is its ultra-low equivalent series resistance (ESR) of ≤0.6 mΩ.

Low ESR helps reduce resistive losses and heat generation during high-current charge and discharge operations. This can improve power conversion efficiency while helping minimize thermal stress during frequent high-power events.

For AI data center applications, where power fluctuations may occur repeatedly during normal operation, low ESR is particularly important for maintaining stable and efficient power delivery.

    Dry-Process Electrode Technology

The D33 series utilizes Tsingyan Electronics' proprietary Powder-into-Film (PIF) dry electrode technology with a PTFE-based binder system.

Compared with conventional wet electrode manufacturing processes, the dry-process approach enables Tsingyan Electronics to optimize electrode structure and manufacturing processes while reducing the potential for solvent-related processing issues.

The D33 product platform has been developed with a focus on long-term stability, mechanical robustness, and high-power performance, making it suitable for demanding industrial and data center environments.

Full Laser Welding for Enhanced Reliability

    The D33 series adopts a full laser-welded, full-tab design.

The welding structure is optimized for high-current applications and is designed to reduce potential connection-related failure risks, including poor electrical contact, insufficient welding, and resistance increase during long-term operation.

This design supports stable current transmission under frequent charge-discharge cycles and high-power operating conditions.

2,000+ Hours of High-Temperature Accelerated Testing

Reliability is a critical consideration for data center power infrastructure, where equipment is expected to operate continuously with minimal maintenance.

The D33 series has undergone more than 2,000 hours of high-temperature accelerated aging testing. Following the test, capacity degradation remained below 20%, providing additional validation of the product's long-term operating stability.

Combined with its long cycle life and high-power characteristics, the D33 series is designed to support long-duration equipment deployment with reduced maintenance requirements.

    Key Performance Characteristics

The D33 series offers the following key specifications:

    • Cycle Life: Up to 1 million deep charge-discharge cycles

    • Response Time: Microsecond-level response

    • DC ESR: ≤0.6 mΩ

    • Capacitance Range: 270F–900F

    • Rated Voltage: 2.7V–3.0V

    • Operating Temperature: -40°C to +65°C

    • Extended Temperature Range: Selected models up to 85°C

    • Charging Capability: 95%+ of rated capacity within approximately 0.5 seconds to 1 minute, depending on operating conditions

These characteristics enable the D33 series to provide high-power output and rapid energy replenishment for short-duration power events.

Supporting Next-Generation Data Center Power Systems

As AI computing continues to increase the power density and dynamic characteristics of data centers, conventional energy storage technologies may face greater challenges in responding to short-duration, high-power events.

Supercapacitors offer a complementary solution by providing rapid power response and high cycle capability, while batteries can continue to provide longer-duration energy storage.

The D33 series can therefore be integrated into hybrid energy storage and power management architectures, helping data center operators address both transient power requirements and long-term energy storage needs.

With its combination of ultra-low ESR, microsecond-level response, long cycle life, high-temperature reliability, and dry-process electrode technology, the D33 series represents Tsingyan Electronics' latest effort to develop advanced supercapacitor solutions for the rapidly evolving AIDC and high-power energy storage market.

Tsingyan Electronics will continue to invest in dry electrode technology, supercapacitor materials, high-power energy storage, and application-specific energy solutions, supporting the development of AI infrastructure, data centers, and next-generation power systems.
